Information Technology is essential to the economic and social development of the region. The focus is on getting students to develop skills for life in an increasingly technological world rather than on students absorbing a myriad of unrelated facts which may have only short relevance. The syllabus aims to provide the kind of practical experience which include an element of discovery and foster self confidence together with practical skills that will prepare students to meet the region’s need for greatly increased productivity and cost effective procedures. This syllabus has been divided into nine separate units which will help the students in getting whole information about information technology. The respective units are Fundamentals of Hardware and Software, Introduction to Programming, Programming Languages, Applications and Implications, Productivity Tools, Word Processing, Spreadsheets, Database Management and Information Processing.
