The substitution rules deal with urddhi and non-vrddhi substitutions, the latter mainly for pronominal forms.The organization of pada 2 is established on the basis of anuvrtti. We mention the following sections (indicated by number), sub-sections (indicated by a, b, etc.), and further sub-divisions (indicated by aa, bb, etc.). Sections and sub-sections and further subdivisions may be formed by a common uddesya including a common condition, or a common vidheya. Sub-sections may partially overlap.
