Dr. Mousumi Parida is a bilingual fiction writer and poet as well as a novelist, columnist and editor of an e-magazine (in Odia) from Odisha, India. Her poems, short stories, novels have been widely published in various leading journals, newspapers, magazines and e-magazines and well acclaimed by the readers and analyzers.

She has been writing poems since her childhood. She started publishing her first book Samarpita, a collection of stories in 1994. She has done his doctorate on the stories from Utkal University, Vanibihar, Bhubaneswar. Now she is working as a lecturer in the department of Odia.

A noted Odia literary figure, Dr. Mousumi Parida has autrhored eight short stories collections, three novels (O Pakhyanatara, Muhurtara Naada o NisabdaJuaara, Album AainaIce Cream), two collections of poems (Pratikhyara Ante, Antahswara–Eka Swapna Bilasira), and an e-book (PandaratiFaguna).

She has also been conferred with the prestigious ‘Kedarnath Gabesana Pratisthan Award’, ‘Rajadhani Pustakmela Award’, ‘Utkal Prativa Award’, ‘Kalinga Literary Award’ and many more acknowledgements for stories. Utkal Sahitya Samaj award for Novel and also felicitated as ‘Sahityashree Samman’ as a poet.

She has also felicitated as ‘Bhubaneswar Samman-2017’ for her various types of works in literature world. Also participated in several programmes of Odisha Sahitya Academy and Kendra Sahitya Academy.she has received several outstanding recognitions for teaching and in writing excellence.
