Pharmacogenomics is the whole genome application of pharmacogenetics, which examines the single gene interactions with drugs. By doing so, pharma-cogenomics aims to develop rational means to optimize drug therapy, with respect to the patients’ genotype, to ensure maximum efficiency with minimal adverse effects. Pharmacogenomics combines traditional pharmaceutical science such as biochemistry with annotated knowledge of genes, proteins, and single nucleotide polymorphisms. This book gives a theoretical application and tools of pharmacogenomics. It is organized into eight chapters and deals with Pharmacogenomics, Human Genome Project, Biosensor technology, nano-technology in Medicine, Microarrays, Bioinformatics and IPR and health care. In the last chapter we also discuss the trend in the Drug Researches with special emphasis on drug discovery and drug designing. This book promises to give the reader an insight into the future and the latest information in the field of diagnostics and pharmacogenomics.
