ABOUT THE AUTHOR S.P. Bansal

Dr. S.P. Bansal is an Associate Professor and Chairman of the Institute of Vocational Studies, Master of Tourism Administration, Himachal Pradesh University, Shimla.  He specializes in the field of tourism.  He has to his credit about 50 published research papers and seven books, out of which thee books are on tourism.  He has completed six major research projects on tourism mainly on thematic areas like Sustainable tourism development, Ecotouirism, and the Impact evaluation of tourism development.  He is the Chief Editor of Tourism Development Journal, an international tourism research journal.  He has guide eight scholars at Doctorate level.  He has represented India and Himachal University in many international tourism gatherings/ conventions/seminars at France, UK, USA and Switzerland.  He is a member of Tourism, Govt. of India; NCERT, etc.  He also holds position of Secretary, All India Tourism Teacher’s Association (AITTA).  Presently he is teaching MTA and MBA students and devoting himself to a continuing I n-depth analysis of Indian tourism Industry.
