Twenty-Sixth December 2004 Tsunami: Causes, Effects, Remedial Measures, Pre and Post Tsunami Disaster Management

This book is an integration of the research highlights of these projects that were executed through research and academic institutions and national agencies, on four major themes viz. Coastal geomorphology, inundation mapping, water quality and sediment characterization, in all the tsunami affected areas on the Indian mainland and Andaman and Nicobar Islands. An effort has been made to bring out a seamlessly coherent picture on the nature and intensity of damage caused by the Great Tsunami with possible explanation and mitigative measures. It is envisaged that the book would serve as a reference material to the future researchers and also provide basic information to all the concerned viz. the community, the industry, media, Governmental and non-governmental agencies in the management of such natural calamities.
