ABOUT THE AUTHOR Geeta Reddy Anant

Prof Geetha Reddy Anant (also Geeta Reddy Anant & J Geeta Reddy) is Director, Centre for Indian Ocean Studies Osmania University, Hyderabad having worked on issues of urban growth and life, informal economy, energy consumption and impacts etc. She is the author of Urbanisation and Primate City Growth in the Indian Ocean countries-1995, Planning and Regional Development-Towards Identification of Economic Potential-1996 as well as editor of Problems of Hunger and Food Security in the Indian Ocean Region-2000 and Multilayered Cities and Urban System-2009. She has also published over one hundred articles and research papers.
