This book seeks to examine the role of the press in addressing the developmental needs of women in India. It makes a comparative study of the articles that appear in regional and national newspapers, and tries to identify the concerns at the regional and national levels, with special reference to the states of Jammu and Kashmir, Uttaranchal, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand and Uttar Pradesh. An effort is also made to explore the role of women towards sustainable development and harmonious living through traditional methods.
