ABOUT THE AUTHOR Siraj Ahmed

Siraj Ahmed (PhD) is Professor, Department of Mechanical Engineering, Maulana Azad National Institute of Technology (MANIT), Bhopal. He has more than 23 years of experience of teaching, research and industrial consultancy. Dr Ahmed has published/presented more than 63 papers in international and national journals/conferences. He has been involved in wind resource assessment exercise at several sites in India and abroad and developed the state-of-the-art facility for anemometry. Dr Ahmed has delivered a number of invited and expert lectures on various aspects of wind energy, such as resource assessment, wind turbine design, planning, development and micro-siting of wind energy projects. He has been associated with BARC (BRNS), MHRD, C-WET, DST, HEG in India and with VIPO Inc. in USA for research, development and industrial consultancy projects.
