The consumers have been the victims of middlemen in the Indian market since times immemorial. It is well known fact that lack f prudent financial management would impediment the performance of any organization and no exception in this regard to the consumer cooperatives. In this direction the government has also made hectic efforts to improve the existing system by way of providing policy support as well as monetary support. The book has covered various components of working capital in detail and offered appropriate suggestions for toning up the performance of consumer cooperatives in Andhara Pradsesh in particular and in India in general. It is also hoped that the observations and the remedial measures offered for plugging the loopholes in the existing system will be of the real interest and help to those policy makers not only the state. And also it is of great use to the researchers, research organizations and the public in general.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR D. Himachalam

Dr. D. Himachalam (b. 1953) did his M.Com. (1979) and M.Phil. (1982) with 1st class from Sri Venkateswara University, Tirupati. He was awarded Ph.D. Degreein 1989. He joined in the Department of Commerce, Sri Venkateswara University as a Lecturer in 1985. He has published 15 papers in reputed journals and 5 unpublished papers to his credit. He has attended a number of National and International Conferences. He has worked as a Joint Director of the Seminar ’Consumerism in India-Problems and Prospects’. His area of specialization is co-operation and Financial Management.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR K. Jayachandra Reddy

Born in 1972 at Nainarukandriga (Chittoor District) in Andhra Pradesh, Dr. K. Jayachandra Reddy did his B.Com., in 1994 and M.Com. in 1997. In 1999 he took his M.Phil. He was awarded Ph.D. in Commerce in 2003 by Sri Venkateswara University, Tirupati. He worked as a lecturer in commerce in Govt. Junior College for one year and as a Assistant Professor in KKC Institute of PG Studies, Puttur. At present he is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Business Management Studies of Srinivasa Institute of Technology and Management Studies, Chittoor. He has participated in various national seminars and workshops, and his areas of specialization in teaching research are Accounting and finance, Taxation, and Human Resource Management. He worked as Project Fellow in 3 UGC sponsored Projects and also published 4 articles in reputed Journals in the area of consumer affairs.
