Aims of Early Education

Society values the individual who can face tough problems and take responsible action. This book is concerned with the aims of early childhood education which fulfill such requirements of society. The development of ability to make reasonable choices and to accept responsibility for these choices are major goals for life and education. In reality, they are essentials of a meaningful life. This could be demonstrated in countless ways, for instance, there would be no democracy without them. Choices and resposi-bility one what democracy is all about. Democracy does not mean and has never meant the right of anyone to do as he pleased. It does involve a group of people free to and capable of arriving, accepting, and carrying through its decision.
