Volume II, of the book "An Illustrated Fern Flora of the West Himalaya" covers the fern families, Onocleaceae, Woodsiaceae, athyriaceae, Hypodematiaceae Thelypteridataceae, Peranemataceae, Dryopteridaceae, Bolbitidaceae Tectariaceae, Elaphoglossaceae, Nephrolepidaceae, Oleandraceae, Davalliaceae, Blechnaceae, Azollaceae and Salviniaceae. It contains an account of 172 fern species including 10 hybrids. Both volumes, thus contain an account of 360 fern species 25 fern hybrids.
The list of doubtful/excluded species for Vol. II is 71, and the total of such reports for both volumes is 129.
ABOUT THE AUTHOR S.P. Khullar
The Author is Professor of Botany, Panjab University, Chandigarh (India). He has been working on Indian Ferns especially those from the Himalaya for the past 30 years. He has collected ferns from various localities of Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh and the Kumaun Himalaya for the present work. Prof. Khullar is an elected "fellow" of various scientific organizations like The National Academy of Sciences, India, The Indian Botanical Society and the Indian Fern Society. He is also a member of the Editorial Board of several Botanical Journals of India. Prof. Khullar's work on ferns has been acclaimed world-wide, and he is well known in the annals of Pteridological Research.
