ABOUT THE AUTHOR Anand Sirohi
Anand Sirohi has a Master’s degree in Sociology from the University of Allahabad and a doctorate in the same from the University of Delhi. For more than fifteen years he has been actively associated with PRERNA, a Kolkata-based organization dedicated to the uplift of child labour and street children. He has written about a dozen papers on the problems of programme implementation in these areas.
ABOUT THE AUTHOR Jairam Kansal
Jairam Kansal (b. 1954) obtained a Master's degree in Sociology from the University of Karnataka and subsequently a doctorate in the same from the University of Delhi. He has taught in colleges in Bangalore, Chennai and Hyderabad and has also conducted extensive national surveys in demography, cultural assimilation and migrant communities for established organisations. His book on Private Attitudes and Public Morality is expected early next year.
ABOUT THE AUTHOR Vani Prabhakar
Vani Prabhakar has a master’s degree in Sociology from the University of Delhi and a doctorate in same from the Jawaharlal Nehru University. She taught for over eight years in colleges of Delhi, Punjab and Gujarat. She was actively associated with the American Peace Corp. working in rural areas of India, Srilanka, Myanmar and Bangladesh. Subsequently, she joined a reputed NGO, Action for International Development (AID) and has been working as a Programme Advisor (Rural Development) for over six years.
