The world over Quality Assurance is an evolving mechanism. The Indian system of quality assurance started with the philosophy of making a good beginning and undertaking further fine-tuning based on field experience. Today the system is mature enough to face the emerging challenges and enhance its professionalism. This book is an attempt to record those developments. As the Indian system of quality assurance evolves, it consolidates its strengths and expands its scope to be in tune with the international developments. Along with expansion and consolidation, more issues of fine-tuning surface, new challenges emerge, and the system explores uncharted dimensions at the national as well as international levels. This book is an attempt to share those developmental issues with the international experiences with the hope that this would be useful to those interested in quality assurance of both national and transnational educational. There is a growing fund of experience on various issues of quality and quality assurance the world over to build on but at present they are highly fragmented and well developed only in a few countries. It might be useful to pool the experiences of various quality assurance agencies, with a focus towards better practices. Working together with common resources is sure to yield better results. The first step would be to understand global issues of concern and strengthen the dialogue on international cooperation among the quality assurance agencies. This book discusses those emerging dimensions at the international level.
