Professionalisation of Education in India: Emerging Scenario and Perspective

Dr. A.K. Singh obtained his M.A. and Ph.D. degrees in History of Art from the Banaras Hindu University. Since 1976 he has been engaged in carrying out researches on the art of Trans-Himalayan regions with the Bharat Kala Bhavan, the Art and Archaeology Museum of the same university. Dr. Singh has undertaken extremely adventurous and painstaking journeys to explore the historical and archaeological potentialities of the difficult terrains. He was awarded Senior Research Fellowship by the U.G.C. He has many research articles to his credit. He is presently a lecturer in History of Art, in the Faculty of Visual Arts in the Banaras Hindu University.

Dr. Ram Nath Sharma, M.A., D.Phil., D.Litt., President U.P. Philosophers Association for a decade, LMI : Indian Philosophical Association and Darshan Parishad; Institute; Chief Editor: Research Journal of Philosophy and Social Sciences, Head of the Department of P.G. Studies and Research at Meerut College for two decades. Guided more than three dozen Ph. D’s. Author of more than one hundred research papers and an equal number of books in the field of Philosophy, Sociology, Education and Psychology. An authority on Sri Auurobindo and Indian Psychology, Dr. Sharma has always been keen to take up any important problem of present it in a book form. Some of his works on current subjects are Contemporary Indian Philosophy, Indian Psychology, Integral Thought of Sri Aurobindo, the Kargil War, Indian Votes Again, Indian Education Into Millennium, Kashmir Autonomy, Neo Vedanta Education, World fights Terrorism, Schools and Schooling in India, Gujarat Holocaust and Indian Education at the Cross Road.

Dr. R.P. Shukla (born in 1955) is M.Sc. (Zoology) Kanpur University, M.Ed. University of Allahabad, Ph.D. (Education), center of Advanced Study in Education (CASE), M.S. University, Baroda. Dr. R.P. Shukla has more than 22 years of teaching and research experience to his credit. His is Head of Department of Education, Nagaland University, Kohima, has been engaged in P.G. teaching and research guidance, supervised many Ph.d. works. He is a member of technical Committee on Early childhood Care and Education, Research consultant, SCERT Government of Nagaland, Kohima. Dr. Shukla is a prolific writer. Besides 50 papers published in leading journals, he has contributed chapters in many books and has been resource talker, All India Radio Kohima. Dr. Shukla has organised State, Regional and National Level Conferences on the socially relevant themes.
