Religion and spirituality explained in simple language. Education has two aspects. One is for employment and living, the other for right way of living. The subtle distinction between law and rule of law is outlined. Where there is no accountability, there is no rule of law. Reform of certain Criminal Law provisions suggested. Judiciary is an essential part of governance. This larger vision of its role is focused. Greater transparency of the working of various tribunals is the need of the hour. It has become a habit for law makers and enforcers to break law. This needs to be arrested, if our democracy is to reflect the vision of Abraham Lincoln and Gandhiji. Corruption, inaction, wrong doing, highhand acts, lawlessness of police and political class is a threat to our republic. Despite possessing vast natural and rich human resources, political, judiciary, administrative leadership failed in good governance. Reactionary, administrative reform replaced right reform. Strangle-hold of administration on polity or collusion of both in the loot of Nation’s resources resulted in graded inequality in society. Misguidance, misrepresentation, scapegoating, misperception, misunderstanding, claiming false credits, holding false views, exhibiting false sympathies is an axis of evil. It has come to dominate our society, polity and administration. Terrorism finds a fertile ground to grow in a climate of crime and corruption, inefficiency and indiscipline in society, governing classes. Religious fundamentalism, political extremism, political instability and violence, abet the growth of terrorism. One is not isolated with the other. We have to arrest this tendency of crime etc., if we want to achieve success against terrorism. The less known, least focussed aspect of grievance redressal by government is highlighted. Police have both hard and soft powers. Soft power includes, enforcement of law and hard power involves using force including shoot to kill. An independent Accountability Bureau is necessary to call police action to accountability.
