ABOUT THE AUTHOR Nazer Singh

Nazer Singh is Reader in History in the department of correspondence courses, Punjabi University, Patiala, Punjab. He has his Doctorate degree from the HImachal Pradesh University, Shimla in 1987. He is the author of a number of research papers published in the journals of Patiala, Amritsar and Rohtak University. His articles in the Punjab Past and Present, Journals of Regional History, Proceedings of Punjab History Conference, Journal of Sikh History, and M.D.U. Research Journal (Arts) cover a variety of themes ranging from historiography, philosophy and education to socio-religious reformation including the question so f control over Golden Temple and conception of Punjabi Suba. Already he has two books to his credit. Presently he is engaged in exploring the origin and growth of the Sikh Studies.
