The present study is an evaluation of women development and empowerment programmes which are being implemented in the State of Andhra Pradesh. These programmes have been evaluated in terms of funds distributed and number of beneficiaries of these programmes. The methodology adopted for the present study is content analysis. The study has been divided into six chapters.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR K.R. Rajani

Dr. (Mrs.) K.R. Rajani is an Associate Professor in the Department of Philosophy and Religious Studies, Andhra University, Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh, India. She was the recipient of Dr. Sarvepalli Radha Krishnan Philosophy Prize; Raja Ram Mohan Roy Birth Bicentenary Prize of the Andhra Pradesh Brahma Samaj and G.S.R. Krishnaiah Philosophy Prize. Dr. Rajani was nominated as "International Woman of the year for 2000/2001 by International Biographical Centre, Cambridge, England. She has presented and published many papers. She is the author of two books titled "The Ideal of Human Unity: Sri Aurobindo" and "An Introduction to Sino-Japanese Philosophy". Dr. Rajani has visited University of Chicago, Tennessee State University and Vanderbilt University in the United States of America on a staff award in the year 2005. Her areas of interests are Sri Aurobindo, Philosophy of Religion, Philosophy of Education, Applied Ethics and Gender Studies.
