This book aims to fulfill a specific need. Effective from 2008-09 session, U.P.T.U. has introduced the subject of “Manufacturing Processes“ for first year engineering students of all streams. This textbook covers the entire course material in a distilled form in line with the recommended contact hours of L T P 2-0-0 to cover the wide syllabus.

In this edition, the essential features of the book have not been altered. However, certain necessary changes are made and Unit-I and Unit-IV have been completely rewritten to make the book more useful. Besides, the question bank has been widened and a number of objective questions are given at the end of each unit.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR Arun Mittal

Arun Mittal is the Professor of chemistry department of science is having more than twenty-six books on his credit. He is the fellow of the academy of science and the member of various institutional bodies. Dr. Mittal got training in all the branches of chemistry, such as Organic, Inorganic and Physical Chemistry. He has written several books, papers and articles at the international and national levels. He has been honored by various professional organizations for his outstanding contributors in science education.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR H.N. Gupta

Prof. H.N. Gupta, B.Sc., G.I. Mech. E (London), FIE has practiced mechanical engineering for forty seven years-35 years in industry and 12 years in teaching. He was CEO of several industrial units and held many appointments like U.G.C. visiting professor, S.B.O.P. chair professor and national expert in process technology in a UNDP sponsored project. He has also served as a member of CII (Northern chapter) manufacturing technology panel. Currently, he teaches Mechanical Engineering in I.E.T., Lucknow as guest professor.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR R C Gupta

Prof. R.C. Gupta, B.Sc., B.E., M.Tech., Ph.D. has taught Mechanical Engineering in India and abroad for about four decades. He is currently, professor and head of Mechanical Engineering department in I.E.T., Lucknow. He is also a member of Board of Studies of U.P.T.U. Besides Mechanical Engineering, he has a deep interest in astrophysics.
